# Configuring Agent Settings

Workspace admins can configure how and when the Fluency agent operates, including the observation window and any applications or URLs to exclude from capture.

## How to configure agent settings

1. **Open the Fluency Portal.** Navigate to [dashboard.usefluency.com](http://dashboard.usefluency.com) to launch the Fluency portal. You must be a workspace admin to do this. Contact your IT team if you're unsure.
2. **Go to Settings.** Click the settings icon in the left sidebar.
3. **Open the Agent tab.** Find it in the sidebar under the organization category.

4. **Set the observation window.** Adjust variables like observation days and observation hours, scoped to the relevant time zone. This defines when Fluency is operating. For example, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, Pacific time.
5. **Add exclusions.** Add any applications or URLs that Fluency should never be able to access. For example, `facebook.com` or `iMessage`.

<Note>
  The observation window controls when screen activity is captured. The agent may still show sync activity outside this window. This is a lightweight status heartbeat and does not collect any user data.
</Note>
