How work is organized

Work Explorer organizes work from broad business areas down to individual actions: Category → Process group → Process → Activity → Step

Level	What it means	Example
Category	A broad business area used to organize related process groups.	Finance
Process group	A collection of related processes within a category.	Accounts payable
Process	A workflow made up of connected activities that achieve a business outcome.	Pay a supplier invoice
Activity	A task within a process, made up of steps that explain how to perform it.	Validate the invoice
Step	A specific action within an activity. Steps form its standard operating procedure (SOP) and may include instructions, tools, or screenshots.	Compare the invoice total with the purchase order

The examples follow one path through the hierarchy. Each level adds detail: open a process group to explore its processes, then a process to see its activities, and an activity to see its steps.
